The Ladies Club pin up, Arco, won her 10 th race at Globe Derby Park on Monday, September 17.
Arco has been a wonderful involvement in harness racing for the 250 female owners through Aaron
Bain Racing.
At Globe Derby Park, Arco, a red hot $1.65 favourite scored a neck win in the First Care Medical Pace
(1800m).
Driver Danielle Hill was keen to find the spot outside the lead where she was able to control the
tempo of the race.
Arco responded with a good win from Whitestarchristian ($4.40) with Dont Tell Alice ($26), 8-1/2
metres away third.
The five-year-old mare rated a smart 1:57.3 with a final 400 metres in a smart 28.3 seconds.
Danielle Hill was delighted Arco was back in the winning list.
“She likes the open air and travelled super in the breeze,” Hill said.
“It was nice to get her confidence back up.”
Arco was purchased from New Zealand by Aaron Bain, principal of Aaron Bain Racing.
“We wanted to find a mare where we could get a lot of new ladies involved in our sport and Arco
has proved a fantastic mare,” Bain said.
“Her first win was first up in March last year at Mildura, and only once has she finished further back
than fourth in 24 starts for the Ladies Club.
“Her record is now 10 wins, four seconds, five thirds and four fourths and her stakes now has
reached $40,000 and that doesn’t include any bonuses.
“It has taken a while to get her back to full fitness following a break and she has been running well
from tricky draws.
“Today, where Dani was able to get her out and into the running line, Arco loved it and was too good
for her rivals.”
Bain said he was keen to take her back go Melton in Victoria this preparation.
“Now she is back into winning form I will look where she can be placed to advantage.
“She proved last time in that she is good enough to take on the mares in Victoria, so now, we have
to find the right race.”
