Partners Aaron Bain Racing and Summit Bloodstock are pleased to announce stable star Spirit Of St Louis as their runner in the inaugural $1 million The Nullarbor.

The Nullarbor will be run over 2536 metres at Gloucester Park in Perth on Friday, April 14 with Aaron Bain Racing and Summit Bloodstock holding one of the 10 slots for the race.

Aaron Bain, principal of Aaron Bain Racing, said it was common sense to select Spirit Of St Louis for the Nullarbor.

“When we knew there would be a suitable flight for him to Perth, he was the obvious choice,” Bain
said.

“Racing WA have temporarily organised a plane to leave Sydney about 10 days before the race
which is perfect.

“When we were successful in securing a slot, it always a plan to select Spirit Of St Louis, it was just
about being able to confirm the logistics.

“Spirit Of St Louis has high speed which will be a key asset around Gloucester Park.

“A two-time Group One winner, he has already proved himself one of Australasia’s best pacers and deserves a chance in a $1 million race.”

On Saturday, Spirit Of St Louis has a strong chance of notching his third Group One victory in the
$500,000 Del-Re National A G Hunter Cup (2760m) at Melton in Victoria.

Trained in Sydney by Belinda McCarthy, and to be driven by Jack Callaghan, the six-year-old has
drawn perfectly in gate one in the Hunter Cup.

Bookmakers opened Spirit Of St Louis at $5 and he was backed into $4.60 and is second favourite
behind the outstanding New Zealand pacer Copy That which is $2.60.

Spirit Of St Louis has an excellent record of 23 wins from 51 starts and already has banked $757,777 in stakes.
