Aaron Bain Racing wishes our owners and followers a happy, healthy and prosperous 2025.
Internally, ABR has our own KPI’s which we strive to attain, but our external goal is to have a multitude of winners giving as many owners as possible the chance to #experiencetheTHRILL.
2024 has been a big year, most notably the move into the iconic Angaston Park training complex of Wayne Mitchell.
The benefits of the property are evolving daily and ABR is confident it will have a significant impact on our winning strike rate in 2025.
With the harness racing season concluding on December 31, trainer Aaron Bain will finish with 75 winners from just 215 runners as a percentage of 34.8% but incredibly, ABR horses have finished in the first three 142 times for a 66% return.
To end 2024, ABR will make our first trip for Port Lincoln for quite some time on Tuesday chasing year-ending success.
SPEAKEASY will be our first runner in race four, the Sportsbet Make It Look Easy Rating 0-56 Handicap (1750m) at 3.45pm SA time.
Senior rider Ben Price will be aboard jumping from gate four in a field of 16 with three emergencies.
The five-year-old mare was an excellent second over 1550 metres at Bordertown at her most recent run and the extra trip should suit.
Grey SOLAR MIST is our other runner in race seven, the Kemp Real Estate Rating 0-64 Handicap (1210m) at 5.40pm SA time.
He has drawn gate nine in a field of 16 with four emergencies and will be ridden by Rochelle Milnes.
SOLAR MIST is not disadvantaged by a wide draw as he appreciates galloping room.
He has been disappointing since an excellent first up win at Murray Bridge in September but has been freshened and the Port Lincoln race gives him a chance to return to form.
To welcome in 2025, ABR journeys to Murray Bridge on Wednesday with two runners.
The talented NAVY GOLD resumes in race six, the Fred Vella Tyre & Crash Repair Rating 0-56 Handicap (1200m) at 4.42pm SA time.
The four-year-old has drawn barrier 13 in a field of 17 which includes three emergencies with Jason Holder to ride.
NAVY GOLD hasn’t raced since July 27 but has had two nice trials to ready him for a return to racing.
ABR would like to see him running strongly through the line.
In-form apprentice Taylor Johnstone will have her first ride for ABR on HIGH GARDEN in race seven, the Carlton Draught Benchmark 56 Handicap (1400m), at 5.22pm SA time.
A last-start impressive maiden winner over 1400 metres at Balaklava on December 4, HIGH GARDEN has drawn gate nine in a field of 20 with four emergencies.
The draw and long straight at Murray Bridge should suit the four-year-old mare perfectly.
Hopefully, a positive end to 2024 and a winning start to 2025, then off to Gawler on Saturday for the metropolitan meeting.
