ANGASTON PARK

The iconic Angaston Park in South Australia is our thoroughbred racing’s principal base - complemented by and an on-course stable complex at Gawler.

Previously known as Lindsay Park and home of the legendary Hayes family training empire,  Angaston Park offers a world-class equine environment and training facilities.

The property, which we moved into in July 2024, has the capacity for 100 horses in full training, offering the continued opportunity for growth and desire to increase the quality of our stable and race at the highest level in racing around Australia.

The 170-acre property features a grass track and all-weather Pro-Ride synthetic track - each finishing with testing uphill runs, having been modelled by the legendary Colin Hayes on English training tracks.

In addition to the world-class training tracks, further training tools on the full inhouse capable property include;

  • Swimming pool (circular)
  • Scenic trotting path around the inner perimeter
  • Arena
  • Treadmills
  • Round Yard
  • Undercover Horse Walkers
  • 100 fully undercover spacious boxes
  • Turnout irrigated lucerne day-paddocks
  • On-site agistment outside the training complex
  • Breaking-in & Education facilities

GAWLER - Thoroughbreds

Supporting our principal training base at Angaston Park, we have 20 boxes on-course at the Gawler and Barossa Jockey Club.

An important training tool, of our full operation to give us flexibility and options in our training programs back on the flat surfaces for particular horses, and ensure the balance of sharpness in preparations as and when required for course-proper gallops.

The Gawler racing and training complex offers four tracks - the grass racecourse proper, inside grass and two sand surfaces with alternative ways of going.

In addition to the training tracks, the facilities also include;

  • Swimming Pool (straight)
  • Treadmill
  • Bull-ring
  • Round Yard
  • 20 undercover boxes, inside the barn.

GAWLER - Harness racing

Our principal harness racing stable is located in close vicinity to the Gawler Harness Racing Club, which is used for all track work, training and education.

ABR has grown to become one of South Australia’s leading stables from this base, and is proud of our position within the Gawler community across both codes as a result.

Our live-on site property, stables up to 50 horses in full-training from walk-in walk-out boxes, to fully in-closed boxes and outdoor paddocks where horses are paired and enjoy the relaxed environment.

The Gawler racing & training facility is home to a 1000-state of the arc cambered track, and a 900m jog track.

In addition to the training tracks, our harness stables have access to;

  • Treadmills
  • Walker
  • Round Yard
  • Swimming Pool (GBJC)

We encourage and support direct interaction with our ABR Family, with exclusive stable tours, and visits of their horses across any of our three properties by calling Kristy Edwards on 0473 479 446 or emailing kristy@aaronbainracing.com.au

We will soon be launching something very exciting and interactive in this space, around the iconic Angaston Park property with an all-inclusive experience.
