Aaron Bain Racing seeks a motivated and skilled Farm Maintenance & Groundskeeper person to join our team.
This role involves the upkeep and maintenance of three associated local horse training properties, with responsibilities ranging from landscaping, general repairs, fencing, welding, and feed pick-ups and deliveries.
The ideal candidate should have a manual drivers license, with an MR truck license preferred and experience with various farm machinery and earth moving equipment (also preferred but can be trained).
This role may suit a young school leaver looking for a hands-on career path out of school, with the ability to learn on the job and grow with a progressive team and expanding local business.
This role Includes:
- Maintain associated properties including paddocks, gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas
- Perform general landscaping including planting, pruning, weeding, and spraying
- Perform general property maintenance and cleaning as directed for the week to ensure a high level of presentation.
- Conduct general repairs and maintenance around the property, including fences, welding, and equipment.
- Ability to construct rural farm fencing around the property as required.
- Ability to use a welder, to do basic farm repairs on yards or steel fixings. Happy to organise training if not a current skill set.
- Operate bobcats or Kanga, and fill equine boxes on the properties with sand or sawdust accordingly.
- Ability to drive Medium Rigid truck, and do regular feed or supplies pickups delivering to associated training properties.
- Ability to use a forklift to unload trucks or move pallets accordingly. Manual labour is required at times.
- Assist in other general farm duties as needed.
Qualifications and experience:
- Manual driver's license (required)
- MR Truck License (preferred)
- Experience operating Bobcat, Welder, and Forklift (preferred, can organise training or tickets)
- Experience in towing trailers and operating other farm equipment
- Knowledge of fencing, landscaping, and garden maintenance.
Skills:
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions for the day or week.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labour tasks
Work Conditions and Hours:
- Outdoor work in various weather conditions
- Monday to Friday - Flexibility can be discussed.
- Saturday work may be required, depending on the week.
- Full-Time work, basic 38 hours + overtime as required.
- Salary depends on experience.
